Singapore: Rounding Island Counting Dragons

2012 is the year of the Dragon - the only mythical sign; ranking fifth in the Chinese zodiac. Singapore marks the year of the 'water dragon' this Chinese new year celebration, spanning the whole island with the theme "A Bountiful Year of the Dragon".

A 108m long three dimensional  illuminated "Water Dragon" is the main attraction of Chinatown bounding through the centre divider of Eu Tong Sen street and New Bridge Road, overlooking a golden gate that welcomes visitors into Chinatown.

Eight other great dragon dramatics make up a total of nine dragons as the number Nine is a symbol of harmony in Chinese numerology.
